Weekend Fun!

We had a very busy weekend!  On Saturday, we had another football game as I previously posted.  After the game, we went to a friends birthday party.  The kids had a great time as usual playing with all the other kids their age.
The birthday boy-Lathan!

Olivia LOVED this tractor!  Jake thinks she might drive a real one someday.
Chris and I trying to take a picture of ourselves!

Then, on Sunday, we went to the O'Reilly company picnic!  We had a great time, although we were disappointed that someone broke the dunk tank before Chris' turn.

The kids really loved playing on the blow-up obstacle coarse!
Olivia had a hard time at first, but soon got the hang of it.  Then, she didn't want to get off!
Almost there!
Down the slide on the other side!
Too cute!
Petting zoo!  This miniature horse's name is Strawberry Shortcake.
Olivia really loved the horse...
Goat--with it's head through the fence!

It was a hot but fun day...

Undefeated!

Yes, that's right!  The J.E.T.S. team is UNDEFEATED! Unfortunately, we had to beat the Colts to become undefeated, but we will let that slide this week.  Jake had a super game--even had the coach come to talk to him about how well he played after Jake was IN THE CAR!  We are so proud of him and our Jets team!  Here are some neat pictures from the game today!
We had to start with Liv since she isn't getting much face time on here lately--
although dance class starts on Wednesday night!
A little blurry but Jake is the one on the far left.
Jake on the end again--number 55.

All-Star?

Well, I don't want to jinx Jake, but thought I would share this exciting news.  This week we received an e-mail inviting Jake to try out for the 3rd grade All-Star football team!!!  We decided that since he was already asleep when we got the e-mail that we would surprise him in a special way when he woke up in the morning for school.  So, we made a special invitation sign and put it on the mirror in his bathroom.  He was very surprised and excited.  Sunday is the try-out so I will let you know what happens after that! Either way will be fine--Jake knows that this is very special and that this is his very first year playing, but how exciting for the opportunity in your first year.  We are very proud!

3rd Grade!

Yes, believe it or not, Jake is officially in 3rd grade!  I can't believe how quickly he has grown-up!  It seems just like yesterday that we were in the hospital going through all the drama with his birth.  He likes his teacher and has some good friends in his class.  I know it will be another great school year!

2 and 0!!

Go Jets!!  What a great start to our season!  It was a rainy, messy day for the most part, but the kids played well.  Okay--really well.  They won 26-0!!!!!  I was so glad that Mom, Papa, Beth, Chris and Emily came to watch him play today!
Emily came with some of her green Westfield spirit wear!

Cousins!

So, the a great day was had with the family, but the best news is this:

Jake plays a guard position for offense and on defense he plays defensive end.  Today, Jake was able to make a great block so that the quarterback could run it in for a touchdown!  After the game, the coach was talking to the boys about their game and said that he wanted to recognize three players/plays and Jake was the first one mentioned!  Way to go Jake!  We are so proud of you!

J E T S! Jets, Jets, Jets!

Jake has his first football game on Saturday! He was really excited to get out there in his new uniform and show his stuff.  He played well and so did his team with a 12-6 victory!  It is hard to get any good pictures from the game itself since they are so far away from us but here are the ones I got.
Olivia decided not to wear green, and thought that her sunglasses were much needed--at 8am!
At the field and ready to play!
Can you find Jake?!?!  He doesn't look like it here, but he is one of the bigger kids on the team!
Most of the boys!  Go Jets!

Action shot!  Look for the dark green socks to find Jake!

Olivia's New Gift!

Well, it took until the end of summer, but Mom was successful in finding Olivia a new playhouse!!!  We have been looking at garage sales and on Craigslist all summer to find one that was big enough for Olivia to get some use out of it, but also affordable! Mom finally scored a winner--$549 dollars off of the suggested retail price.  Quite a bargain if you ask me!
This is how a large man lifts a small house... :)
and how he gets out of said small house...
and how a Grandmother gets out too!
Even the big brother is helping.  He will do just about anything for his sister!

The special girl with her wonderful house.
Olivia saying Thank You to her big brother!
She enjoyed playing in it all afternoon!  She took out her shopping cart and lots of her food and pots and pans too!  Many more fun days of play to come!  Thanks Nana and Papa!

Tennessee Trip

We were able to make a trip to Tennessee to visit the Lawson side of the family.  Here are some pictures from our visit!
Olivia concentrating on her movie.  I thought her earphones looked like a 70's sweatband!
On the long car ride!  This was long before the unpleasant experience with Olivia getting car sick! It is TMI though for most people!
Livi and Aunt Gena!
Cousins!  Olivia and Nate relaxing.

Rock n Roll

Here is Olivia's dance class and their performance!  I posted this once, but then I had a problem so I deleted it.  Hope it works this time!
