Heat on the Rise!

Saturday was the last day of basketball for this season.  The team had been in a tournament where we played three games.  We had beat the Jazz in a blow-out game--28-12.  We beat the Spurs in another big win--17-6.  Then we were in the CHAMPIONSHIP game!!!  We faced the Lakers which we knew would be a very difficult game.  The Lakers had only lost one game the entire season.  We fought the hard fight but couldn't get the baskets to fall.  We ended up loosing the game--however-- this meant that we placed 2nd in the league!  WAY TO GO HEAT!!!  It was a really fun season to watch this year with Jake being a more confident player.  If you recall, last season we were excited that Jake scored in the last game! This year, Jake scored 8 points.  Here are some of the pictures from the game and from giving the trophies and such.

Day Three of Celebrations...

The last day of our Christmas celebration was with Dad, Linda and Grandpa Anderson.  We again met at Beth's house for a nice lunch and many laughs.  The kids again played some games and the adults had a good time catching up.  Another great day of being with family.

Christmas Day

So, Christmas Day was back to normal.  Santa came and brought some big and some small presents.  After opening our gifts from the big guy, and Jake was feeling better so we decided that we should give it a try to go over to Beth's.  We had a great day visiting with everyone, including Aunt Lorna and Uncle Freddie.  The kids spent most of the day playing air hockey in Auntie Beth's basement.  The adults played Apples to Apples. We had good food and good times.

Can you tell that she really didn't like it?!?!

Christmas Eve

Well, this Christmas Eve was the most unusual one we have had in many years.  Our normal routine would have been to go to Beth's late afternoon and have a nice dinner with the family and exchange our gifts.  Literally, as we were getting ready--ie I was ironing and making sure everyone had their clothes ready, and the kids were freshly bathed and waiting patiently to get dressed, Jake starts vomiting.  UGH!  This is after we had all had the stomach flu two times!!  So, the decision was made that we should not go to Beth's.  So, mom decided that she wanted to come to our house and drop off the kids presents so they could at least open them.  After the exchange of gifts, we preceded to spend the next hour and a half on speaker phone so we could open and talk to each other as we opened.  It was difficult to hear everyone, but we accomplished the task.  Later that night, mom called and read the kids the true story of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer on speaker phone while they were cuddled on the couch.  The saying of the night was "Not bad, just different".

The sick kid waiting for the presents to arrive.

Taking the picture because my mom is making me...

Feeling a little better now that I am opening presents!!!
Here is my Marion University football jersey from my awesome Auntie Beth, Uncle Chris, Emily and Allison!

My outrageous outfit from the best Aunt and Uncle!

Under Armor sweatshirt from Nana and Papa!

This may look a little strange, but this goes with the Olivia the Pig book
where Olivia is a cow in her school play, so Nana had this nightgown and eye mask made for her!

Can you believe that Papa MADE this bowl for us?!?!  He did!  It is beautiful!

Here are the kids ready for bed listening to Rudolph.

Dancing Queen

Olivia had her very first dance recital on Friday night!  It was a great evening of Christmas music and cute little ones dancing.  Olivia's song was "Decorate the Tree".  She did a FABULOUS job!  Auntie Beth, Uncle Chris, Allison and Emily all came to watch, too.  Such a great night!
